Excess heat at the tips of bipolar forceps is one of the major problems in electrosurgery. Sticking and charring as well as necrosis and other negative side effects force surgeons to use special techniques and expensive non-stick bipolar forceps.

Working without heat

One of the major problems in electrosurgery is excess heat at the tips of bipolar forceps. Most evident is sticking and charring which can tear delicate tissue. Excess heat also causes inadvertent peripheral tissue damage as well as necrosis of valuable tissue in the surrounding areas. Surgeons had to adjust their techniques.

There is no need for non-stick forceps or special techniques to avoid stikking and charring.

RF-Cutting as well as RF-Coagulation works consequently at temperatures < 50 °C which protects and preserves the tissue and its surrounding areas.
